Do we have to be an Edmonton band?
No! We will meet with any Alberta artist or band interested in our company. We currently operate in full force in Edmonton and we book shows and festivals in Calgary with full operations coming January 2018.
Why only Alberta artists?
We are not set up to be a national company, YET. Stay tuned for development in that area!
I’m touring through and need an Edmonton or Calgary show, can you do that?
Yes, we can definitely book and promote shows in Edmonton or Calgary for you on your tour. Specifics and logistics will be worked out on a case by case basis, email for more information.
Is there a fee?
There is no fee to sign with Yeg Music and receive show opportunities, discounts on everything an artist could need and promotion.
Do I have to be signed with Yeg Music to be booked for shows or access Yeg Music’s services?
We usually only book shows for the artists signed on with Yeg Music, BUT at times we will reach out to artist or bands outside of Yeg Music. We would love to sit down with you and discuss what we have to offer! The exception is for touring bands and our in-house produced festivals. We will book outside Yeg Music in those cases.
I work with other organizations in the city, such as ID VIP, etc. Can I still work with Yeg Music?
In most cases yes, it depends what agreement you have signed. Come in for a meeting and we will see what we can do!
I heard that you have to sign a contract. That sounds scary!
The contract was made to help protect you as an artists and is very common in the industry. We go over it piece by piece with you so there is no confusion (and of course, you have the right to take it to outside counsel for a second opinion). Our contract is non-exclusive (meaning you can still work with other agencies/book your own shows), so don’t worry that it will lock you down from other opportunities. That’s the opposite of what we’re trying to accomplish!
I really hate PAY TO PLAY and wanted to know if that is something your company operates on?
We also hate pay to play! All of our artists are signed at a percentage. This percentage dictates how much the artist earns each Yeg Music show they play. The percentage increases every 3 months when we review the band’s growth. The areas we look at are show draw, social media following, and overall artist development.
I heard from my buddy John, who heard from his buddy Rick, who’s mom heard from her friend Arlene, that you guys….
Rumours, good or bad, spread about everyone and everything. The music scene is no exception. Best to check it out for yourself.
I’m not 18 yet! Can I still apply?
Of course! Age is not a limit for Yeg Music.
When will you be in Calgary?
We are currently booking a few festivals as well as some smaller shows with our full Yeg Card and Yeg Production coming January 2018. All Calgary artist are encourage to contact us for more info or to get into a show or festival.
